Tempa & The Tantrums

Blues · Soul · Swamp Grooves

Born in Colorado and founded by Tempa, Tempa & The Tantrums brings together blues, soul and swampy grooves with a sound that has evolved across years of performances, recordings and musical collaborations.

The Tantrums have released three albums, toured and performed festivals in the U.S. and Israel, and received five Westword Music Showcase nominations, winning the Blues category in 2006. Their album Voodoo & Angels received a Blues Album of the Year honor in 2007, and in 2009 the band performed as part of the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock celebration at Red Rocks.

During the Colorado years, Tempa also created and hosted a long-running weekly blues jam, with Tempa & The Tantrums serving as the house band. The jam became a gathering place for musicians throughout the Colorado blues community.

Today, Tempa & The Tantrums has its own Maui incarnation, carrying the spirit and sound of the original project forward with a new circle of musicians. The Tantrums continues to evolve while staying rooted in the blues, soul and swamp grooves that have always been at its heart.
